Abstract: This study investigates the impact of soft skills development on vocational success among students in Nigeria, focusing on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills essential for workplace effectiveness and career advancement in technical fields. Soft skills play a crucial role in enhancing employability, job performance, and professional growth, complementing technical competencies in vocational education. The research aims to (1) assess the influence of soft skills training programs on vocational students' career readiness and employability, (2) explore perceptions and experiences regarding the importance and application of soft skills in the workplace, and (3) propose recommendations for integrating comprehensive soft skills development strategies into vocational curricula to enhance student success and workforce readiness. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from vocational students, educators, and employers familiar with soft skills development and application in vocational settings. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational students, employers, and soft skills trainers in Lagos State. Case studies will examine successful soft skills training initiatives and their outcomes in improving student employability and career progression. Findings indicated positive correlations between soft skills proficiency and workplace success, identified challenges such as curriculum integration gaps and assessment standardization, and highlighted the role of experiential learning, mentorship, and industry partnerships in enhancing soft skills development. Recommendations include enhancing soft skills curriculum integration, fostering experiential learning opportunities, and promoting employer engagement to ensure vocational students acquire and apply essential soft skills for career success.
